Services that the P&A Program cannot provide

The following are examples of cases the P&A (Protection & Advocacy) Program cannot do. IMPORTANT: these limitations do NOT apply to DRC’s Disability & Aging Crime Victims Unit (DACVU), which provides advocacy and legal services to crime victims who are seniors or people with disabilities. These limitations ONLY apply to the P&A program at DRC:

  • Workers Compensation cases
  • Estate planning
  • Social Security eligibility or appeals
  • Criminal representation
  • Divorce cases
  • Will drafting
  • Child custody or Child In Need Of Care cases
  • Civil representation that does not relate to the legal or civil rights of an individual with a disability
