ATTORNEY

Attorney sought to provide civil rights and disability rights legal services to people with disabilities. Preference for 5+ years of experience (but will consider those with less experience for the right candidates). A strong preference for an attorney with experience in civil rights and/or disability rights issues, including fair housing, employment discrimination, ADA accessibility issues, IDEA, and/or Medicaid. The salary depends on experience and salary history ($52,500 to $70,000 range, with the top of that range reserved for candidates with exceptional experience, abilities, and salary history). The Disability Rights Center of Kansas (DRC) is a non-profit disability rights legal advocacy agency with a stable funding source and opportunities for professional growth. Outstanding employee benefits package (DRC pays 100% of the individual employee’s BCBS health insurance premium; we provide a lucrative public pension retirement program – KPERS, etc.). DRC is a 501(c)(3) organization that qualifies for student loan forgiveness. Fun work atmosphere (employee outings, team spirit). DRC offers a flexible, hybrid work schedule (2 days a week working in the office and up to 3 days a week working from home). Escape the traditional law firm rat race and stop focusing on billable hours. The focus here is on providing high-quality civil rights and disability rights legal services to our clients.
